PRIVACY POLICY

Perfect CVS ("we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out how we handle any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, when you use this website (www.perfect-cvs.co.uk, the "Site") or our CV writing and related services.

By using this Site, you accept and consent to the practices described in this policy. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is [Perfect CVS with its office at 1st Floor, The Mille, 1000 Great West Road, Brentford, West London. 1. Information we collect from you

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data about you:

Information you give us

This is information you provide by completing forms on the Site, interacting with the Site, or contacting us by phone, email, live chat or otherwise. It includes information you give us when you enquire about or order our services, send us feedback, or report a problem. Depending on the service, it may include your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, payment details and the content of any messages you send us.

Because we provide a CV writing service, it will also include the career information you share with us so we can complete your order — for example your employment history, job titles, education and qualifications, skills, achievements, references and any other content you choose to include in your CV, cover letter, LinkedIn profile or other career documents.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect technical information about your visit. This can include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, your operating system and device, the pages and resources you view, the links and buttons you interact with, page response times, the length of your visits, how you arrived at and left the Site, and any phone number used to call us. Some of this information is gathered using cookies and similar technologies, which help us run the Site, improve it and give you a better experience. You can read more in the Cookies section below.

Information we receive from other sources

We may also receive information about you from third parties such as our business partners, technical sub-contractors, advertising networks, analytics providers and payment providers. Where we do, we will combine it with the other information we hold about you and use it for the purposes described in this policy.

Examples of third parties who may process information on our behalf include our hosting and email providers, our website platform, and our payment providers such as [e.g. Stripe / PayPal]. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

We keep the information we collect from you for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the services you have requested, to comply with our legal obligations, and to protect or enforce our legal rights, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

2. How we use your information

We may use the personal and technical information we collect from you in the following ways:

• To fulfil our contract with you and provide the products, services and information you have requested.

• To take payment and provide you with related customer support.

• To tell you about other products or services we offer that are similar or relevant to those you have bought or enquired about — where you have agreed to receive this.

• To notify you about changes to our Site, services or products.

• To run and administer the Site, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research and statistical purposes.

• To improve the Site and present its content in the most effective way for you and your device.

• To let you take part in interactive features of our service when you choose to.

• Where necessary for our or a third party's legitimate interests, including preventing fraud, unless your interests or rights override those interests.

• To help keep the Site safe and secure.

• To meet our record-keeping and legal obligations.

Where you have given consent, we may allow selected third parties to use your data to send you information about goods and services that may interest you. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

3. Disclosing your information

We will not share your personal information with anyone except as set out in this policy. We may disclose your information to:

• Analytics and search providers that help us improve and optimise the Site.

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:

• If we buy or sell any business or assets, in which case we may share your data with the prospective buyer or seller.

• If our business, or substantially all of its assets, is acquired by a third party, in which case customer data may be one of the transferred assets.

• Where we are required to do so by law.

• To help prevent fraud and reduce credit risk.

• To protect the rights, property or safety of Perfect CVS, our customers or others.

If you ever receive information from us that does not relate to you, please delete it and let us know straight away.

4. Where we store your information

The information you give us is stored on our own or our service providers' secure servers. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it, which may include firewalls, anti-virus and anti-malware protection, encryption of data, restricted access controls and regular backups.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described below.

The types of cookies we use

• Strictly necessary — Required for the Site to work properly, for example remembering items in your basket, keeping you logged in and processing payments securely. These cannot be switched off.

• Functional — Remember choices you make, such as your preferences, so we can give you a more personalised experience.

• Performance & analytics — Help us understand how visitors use the Site (which pages are visited and how people move around it) so we can improve it. [e.g. Google Analytics]

• Advertising & targeting — Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

Some cookies are set by us, and some are set by third parties that provide services on our behalf, such as our analytics, payment and advertising partners. Each third party operates under its own privacy and cookie policy.

Advertising and Google Ads

We use Google Ads. This means that Google and other third-party vendors use cookies and similar identifiers to show you ads based on your previous visits to our Site and to other websites you have visited. These cookies are only set where you have given consent.

You can control or opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

• Opt out of Google's use of cookies for personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com).

• Opt out of many third-party vendors via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page (optout.networkadvertising.org) or via Your Online Choices (youronlinechoices.eu).

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our Site, see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Managing cookies

When you first visit the Site, we will ask for your consent to set non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time using our cookie settings. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or remove them. Please note that if you disable certain cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as intended.

We may update this section from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

• To be informed — to know how we collect and use your personal information.

• Access — to obtain a copy of your information and check that we are using it lawfully.

• Rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.

• Erasure — to have your information deleted where there is no good reason for us to keep it.

• Restriction — to ask us to limit how we use your information.

• Portability — to obtain and reuse your information for your own purposes.

• Object — to object to certain uses of your information, such as direct marketing.

• Automated decisions — not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has a legal effect on you.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at: customerservices@perfect-cvs.co.uk. We will respond within one week, and there is no charge.

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, please contact us so we can try to put it right.

Our Site may occasionally include links to third-party websites. A link does not mean we endorse that site or its approach to privacy, so please review their privacy policies before sharing any personal data with them.

7. Changes to this policy

Any changes we make to this Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page.

8. Contact

9. Live chat

We offer a live chat service on our Site and it is provided by a third-party supplier. When you use live chat, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type and operating system. We will also collect your name, email address, phone number and any other details you provide so we can follow up on your enquiry.

Information submitted through live chat is processed by our chat provider and may be stored on their servers. We rely on this service on the basis of our legitimate interests (responding to your enquiries and understanding how visitors use our Site) and, where your enquiry relates to our services, because it is necessary to take steps towards entering into a contract with you. Chat transcripts may be retained for up to six years in order to defend against potential legal claims.
